In the year 2000, in Palhoça, the fastest growing city in the Florianópolis metropolitan area, came to life Cidade Universitária Pedra Branca, a successful and innovative undertaking, having today more than four thousand inhabitants and eighty companies that create more than four thousand jobs.
Now we are implementing the final stage of Cidade Universitária Pedra Branca. The project follows the latest concepts in city planning: “priority to pedestrians, less dependence on cars, mixed use, diversity of inhabitants, sustainability, balanced population density, harmony with nature, and attractive, as well as safe, public spaces.” This means centrality for the neighborhood, where city planning, together with the surrounding nature and the environment, creates a real sense of place.
