The pandemic continues to accelerate the use of artificial intelligence (AI). With the technology and knowledge of several worldwide practices in the mobility sector, businessman André Ostermann, director of Safe Park, a company from Florianópolis, devised a new parking system in the country, in which the user doesn’t need to touch any fixed surface to use it, preventing Covid-19.
This novelty has just come into effect in the management of three parking lots in Cidade Pedra Branca, in Palhoça. The model will also allow the use of other modes of transport on site.
With the new system, the customer’s only contact is with the paper ticket issued by a machine. When the car arrives, it is photographed and a ticket with QR Code is released. This ticket allows the user to pay for the service by smartphone.
At the exit, through the image, the car is released without the user having to show the payment code. Also through the QR Code, the customers can offer free parking to visitors of their companies at Pedra Branca, in which the person only shows the code.
According to Ostermann, in October another stage of technology enters. Whoever uses one of the three parking lots, using the QR Code, can use bicycles or scooters to travel on short routes within Pedra Branca. This will be a service to customers who, in the end, will only pay for parking.
– We have to offer multimodality. Which modal to use will be the customer’s decision. Traveling over short distances does not have to be done by car – says Ostermann.
Safe Park’s novelties may be offered in future projects. They were developed by Perto, a company of the Digicon group, from Rio Grande do Sul. In Pedra Branca, this management was implemented for 274 private parking spaces. The user pays R$ 3 every two hours and more R$ 3 for every hour in addition. Besides Palhoça, the company operates with parking lots in Florianópolis, Joinville and Criciúma.
This new system reinforces the planned city’s attention to the use of cutting-edge technology. Another important step by Pedra Branca in this direction was taken last year. Pedra Branca implemented an urban surveillance system with artificial intelligence that allows reading license plates and people’s faces. The goal, with integrated management, is to prevent problems and identify claims accurately. This ‘Big Brother’ used technology from a neighboring company, Intelbras, from São José.
